We are proud of our uniform which helps to create a purposeful atmosphere. We expect all students to wear the correct uniform at all times.
Uniform
It is essential that we ensure that all students adhere to the uniform standards set by the school. We would like to remind parents/carers of our uniform standards prior to you purchasing uniform.
The school only has one uniform supplier for branded items: Keal Teamwear, their shop is on Walmgate, alternatively you can purchase uniform online at Keal Uniform.
Families of students who will be joining us in Year 7 from September and who currently receive free school meals are eligible for a contribution of £35 towards purchasing uniform from Keal Teamwear.
We encourage students to take responsibility for ensuring that they come to the Academy dressed in a tidy and neat manner.

There are no exceptions to the rules on the document below except for those who have proven medical requirements.

Additional Information
- Hair must be of a natural colour and style.
- Make-up, if worn, should not be noticeable.
- Coloured nail polish, acrylic nails, gel nails, and other forms of false nail are not permitted.
- False eyelashes are not permitted
- Jewellery is restricted to one pair of stud earrings. No other forms of jewellery are allowed.
- Hoodies are not permitted in school.
- Mobile phone use is not allowed in school. If mobile phones are brought in by a student, they should be switched off and kept in the student’s bag at all times.
- Any mobile phone seen will be confiscated by a member of staff.
Uniform support
In association with our fantastic parent group, the Vale of York Society, we are pleased to be able to offer our families support through our preloved uniform provision. We are steadily building up a supply of second hand uniform with a range of sizes for all students. Families who require support with new uniform can self refer via email to Mr Orr to access help.
There are two options –
1) Our Swap Shop – If your child has grown out of their uniform, simply email Mr Orr with what you require and in what size. If it is in stock, you can swap your child’s current uniform for the requested items. It would be appreciated if the items you swap in are washed, are of a good condition or only require minor repairs.
2) Pay As You Can – The other option is that you pay what you can afford for the items we have in stock. There will be no judgement made regarding the donation that you make for the items you require. All money received will go into repairing donated uniform and purchasing further items for this provision. For this option, email Mr Orr the items and sizes that you require and if we have these in stock, he will organise collection and you can use ParentPay to make your donation.
New starters in Year 7 who are entitled to free school meals will receive £35 discount from Keal Teamwear. This will be sent via email. For support with this or if you have any questions, please email Mr Orr hello@voy.hlt.academy
